First time here and the fact that they had a dish I haven't had in over 11 years is what got me. We enjoyed every bit of our experience, & Gaby our waitress was just amazing and so kind, suggesting what days to be there based on our taste in food. It almost felt like family was there. We will be going back soon. 🤗

We ordered brisket queso which was delicious. My other half got a steak & chicken burrito, which looked good, I ordered a chicken chimichanga, which was delicious and we ordered chicken strips and fries for our son and the chicken strips were yummy (I took a small piece). We also ordered both the chocolate and caramel churros (not pictured, forgot to take a pic). It was all quite delicious. Nice atmosphere. Our waiter was very on top of everything, constantly refilling our drinks. Our food came out fast. Overall good experience.

The service here has been stellar every time we have been here. They have an experienced, seasoned staff. The chips are warm and both salsas are good. The red is not too smoky and the green has just enough kick. We also liked that we could hear each other across the table.

Good food with great, efficient service. The flour tortillas are not good at all, though, and taste like they're straight out of a bag. Wish they would also give you an itemized bill so you can see what you're really paying for. Not sure if I was charged for any of my substitutions. This is the only restaurant I know of that does this, and it's very odd.

Competent. Not great but ok. Popular neighborhood restaurant but not worth driving out of your way to get there. The chips were cooked in old oil at too low a temperature for too long resulting in greasy off tasting chips. Salsas we're a bit different with a heavy vinegar taste. Taco was tasteless. Enchiladas were competent. The service was ok but no one had a smile, it was just a job. The one redeeming quality was the interior decor with it's Mexican-funky vibe. After weighing it all; We will not returning.

Found out that our favorite, full of life, very informative, could upsell the entire menu & genuinely good person is no longer employed there. She was the only reason we went because of her infectious, positive energy. Unlike the front door manager. Not a welcoming feeling from her and rude!

El Vecino has been a staple in this neighborhood for many years! I moved away from the neighborhood, but came back and thought I would hop in for a new experience of the place. The restaurant seems tucked away, but once you enter through the front door, you realize how lively it can be! I was seated very quickly despite it being busy and I met Yaz, an older gentleman, and a server that was very friendly and inviting. Despite it being just me, they gave me a booth of my preference. I’m usually pretty quick to order because I know what I want and I got the Big Johns Platter (See Photo). I got chips almost immediately. My food came out so soon after that I was surprised. The enchiladas were probably the highlight, although I do like my cheese enchiladas pretty cheesy and it had a long string of cheese when I ate a bite, which was amazing. The beans and rice were very good. The atmosphere was lively yet slightly dim, and although I don’t drink, I heard that their margaritas were fantastic. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable tasty place to relax with friends.
